1st Prize

Wins an harmonica HOHNER MEISTERKLASSE (C) and a Myriad cap
and will be part of the jury for the next sessions

"From this piece emerges a feeling of serenity that matches cosely the waterdrop theme. The orchestration is mastered and the score is well-groomed"

"Beautiful piece, either in its construction or in its music rendering. The spotless instrument distribution has to be added to the author's credit.
[...] Excellent work, congratulations. "

"This piece seems to be the most complete of this contest. [...] We are dragged to follow with attention the appearances of each instrument."

"A highly original idea. The result is pleasant to hear, rich, with mainy instrumental effects and a complex harmony inheritted from baroque adagios. A well-crafted piece for a surprising and interesting result."

"The melodies are very nice, well directed, with much color and texture. A great score, with exellent panning distribution and fine sounds, in brief, an excellent work.
Congratulation for the creativity,
using the waterdrop as a soloist is fresh. Bravo!"
2nd Prize

Wins a GOLD sound base CD and a Myriad cap.

"This piece is well balanced, as well on surface (instrument panning) as in depth (sound  harmony). The score is well written and the whole proves a good mastering of the software"

"Original view of the mandatory topic. Refined orchestration, delicate sounds, timbre diversity"

"A well made orchestration and a lot of work on sounds, with great parts in this piece. Good score layout."

"Very nice score. Theme used twice in the piece, well embedded after all, but in a very (too much) discrete way.
Pleasant tune, well structured, well crafted soubds, all the pitch ranges are used, from very high-pitched to subbass
."

3rd Prize
Dominic Lapointe for "Trio pour clarinette, accordéon et contrebasse en Sib mineur, 'Waterdrop'"

Wins a GOLD sound base CD.

"First of all, congratulations to the author for the dauntless instrument selection. The whole offers a pleasant rendering, well distributed in space."

"After a promising but all-wise intro, the originality of the rest of the piece is surprising, as soon as the accordion starts playing. It could have been a scuttling, but after several listenings you will enjoy this piece as it deserves, and finally the pleasure is present."

"A very interesting, original and surprising piece."

"Very good score layout, good balance. A pleasant piece."

"Exemplary score. Instrument panning is excellent, sounds are superbly wrought.
The project of building a small ensemble of instruments so different and almost never seen together was ambitious, but is a success.
The piece is well structured, and we feel a clear direction. It's contemporary and very pleasant to listen to.
